Today I’m starting a new, exciting adventure, and you are all invited to come along. In this new blog, you will be able to follow my work as I give the final form to my beautiful memoir “No Degrees of Separation.” A translation into Portuguese was already published by KBR in Brazil in 2012, but this will be the first edition in English. Moreover, the blog will display drafts, original songs I emailed to Alan while we were dating in 2004, videos etc. It is sort of a documentary, the “making of a novel.” I hope you’ll enjoy the ride. Welcome!
Noga Sklar was born in Tiberias, Israel. She grew up in Brazil, and lived for 30 years in Rio de Janeiro, before taking refuge in Serenity Valley, an Atlantic Forest paradise. Noga met her American husband Alan Sklar in 2004 through JDate, which inspired her first novel, No Degrees of Separation (to be published in English in 2016). She now lives in Greenville, SC, where she moved with her husband in October 2014. Welcome to America (2016) is her first book self-translated into English.
How to make this dream come true: You can help the author in this exciting endeavor.
CONTENT AND COPYRIGHT
All the images and songs published in this record consist of the original emails and messages exchanged between Alan and Noga in 2004, as part of the online dialogue that later evolved into Noga Sklar’s 2016 novel No Degrees of Separation. Noga’s voice was recorded a capella at her home in Rio, without any technical capabilities. The images were downloaded from Google and used primarily for private purposes.
